Hello all,
I would appreciate your advice.
I went with my 16 year old son to his consultation yesterday. He has Asperger's and has been on DLA since he was 5. we both found the assessor hostile,judgmental and worst of all she asked leading questions such as 'so you compare and contrast them' when talking about things he likes to look at online before I buy them! She clearly had No knowledge of Asperger's, had to ask me what my son's diagnosis was and didn't know what a SENCo is. I am very concerned that her attitude and lack of knowledge will have damaged my son's chances of an award. My question is: can and should I make a complaint now or wait to see what the decision is? Is there anything else I can do?

I would start by requesting a copy of the assessment report. Contact the DWP office dealing with your son's claim, then you can decide whether there are issues that warrant a complaint.
