Has anyone encountered ageism and prejudice when attending a PIP Atos assessment.?
I first received High Rate Mobility and mid-rate (now standard rate) for help at home in 1993, because I was 64 and 8 months in April 2013 i had to change from DLA to PIP, my assessment for this was in Nov 2016 where I scored 12pts for mobility and 16 pts for help at home, but a review was recommended in 1 year in case one of my problems might be better after surgery which it wasn't.
2 weeks ago I attended for an assessment review, before the assessment started, as I entered the room the assessor looked at me and said 'look at you 69 going in 70 I've never met someone on PIP that old' I was shocked and replied that I first got DLA for life in 1993, the assessor replied; 'we don't give it for life now' which I said that is the DWP who say how long, you only recommend. I felt prejudice after this and I received a written copy as requested from the DWP last Friday. It was like reading about someone else in many parts of it. The boxes ticked by the assessor will mean I only have 10pts for moblility and 6pts for help at home, I'm shocked at the supposedly recovery I've made in last 15 months. #Ageism #Prejudice #Discrimination

That as maybe Gordon but it did not give the assessor the right to say what she did and the manner she did it in, it put me me ill at ease for the whole assessment.
