Dear Moderator If an elderly person has enjoyed a virtually-free life of sickness and suddenly they develop a series health condition e.g. congestive heart failure and there is a member of their family, living in the same house who can successfully meet all the rules in order to apply for Attendance Allowance; can that family member IMMEDIATELY apply for the aforementioned benefit?
I thank you for considering my request for your deeply-appreciated and professional advice.
Providing they are 65 or older then they can immediately apply for Attendance Allowance but payment can only be made once six months have elapsed since their care needs developed.
