ESA Assessment - you couldn't make this up!

Just to follow up. Received a telephone call from DWP today to discuss my Assessment outcome and immediately enquired whether the Agent was aware the Assessor was being investigated. Interestingly, she decided to terminate the call politely to gather more information in respect of the lodged complaint and would call me back in 20 minutes.

A very polite call transpired outlining she was now aware of the Serious Complaint and that my claim had been successful with a review in 12 months. She had spoken to Leeds (Maximus) and duly confirmed it was still under investigation and that the Investigation Team would be making an appointment in the near future to take a sworn/witnessed statement.

Taking into consideration the 4 days i felt i was going to die after my Assessment because of the Assessors' negligence, the approval of my claim for ESA is now second to having this Assessor removed from his position. I am still very angry that someone with qualification would insist I perform physical assessment routines after having a recorded interview BP of 218.

It doesn't end here at all.

Apparently a member of "Serious Complaints Team" have early evening been in contact for a verbal statement but i declined on the grounds their voicemail contact number that was left when i missed their call just happened to be that of the same office as the Assessor resides and i could not therefore authenticate their authority to request a verbal statement.

I did however politely offer a face to face witnessed statement at their convenience at my Legal representative's offices. They will get back to me as a matter of urgency.

Understandably, i await the ESA85 which if my BP reading taken on the day is officially documented at 218 there will be a bigger story to follow.



An independent call logged at DWP was also made today requesting a copy of my ESA85.

I'd complain to the assessor's professional body, too. They deserve a serious sanction, or to be struck off, for so flagrantly disregarding a potentially fatal situation!

Discretely tucked away, the report does confirm my BP was recorded at 218/114

It also declares in the Assesors' summary I refused physical activity assessment; but no mention of why.

Crafty bunch aren't they.

Serious Complaints Team are now addressing the case and will be making an appointment to visit where a taped statement will be taken.

The Assessor in question is listed in the ESA85 as a Registered Nurse.
