Hi,
My wife has finally received a response from DWP in regards to her AR1 Submission. She has been told she has to go for a PIP assessment. This concerns us very much as the main issue with my wife is her neurological problems. The PIP assessment doesnt cover these issues. Unless it has changed since her initial assessment back in 2015. This assessment was for her being transferred to the higher rate on both components. It was refused to which we appealed and went to a First Tier Tribunal and was awarded the higher rate component. Mainly based on my wife and I’s oral evidence and the written evidence supplied. She now has a full Neurological Report from the Community Brain Injury team which we submitted with the AR1 form, plus the comments from the tribunal as to why my wife needs to be in the higher rate components.
Maybe we were being rather naive, but we thought with all this additional evidence the review would go successfully so was very surprised to be summonsed to a medical assessment.
We now have far more at stakes than last time. We have the Motability vehicle which is invaluable to my wife and the obvious financial gain, although not great it is of great help. My wife is very concerned that the asessment will not fair well. The report from the assessment in 2015 was full of lies an false information which led the DWP to their decision.
Can anyone advise us of anything we can do this time round. The assessment really doesn’t help those with Neurological issues at all. Any advice will be gratefully received. Many thanks, Andy.

I suspect that part of the reason a face to face has been booked is due to the current award having been made by a Tribunal.

You could try contacting the Assessment Provider to see if there is any evidence that could be provided that would negate the need for a face to face.

Remember it is not her conditions that are being assessed but the limitations that result from them.

Face to Face Assessments are a con.
The assessors are only interested in their commission or bonus.
This government have given a private company a billion + at the expense of poor and desperate Claimants.

I will elucidate in a following message.
