Having real problems with the two mobility questions (11 and 12). I have looked through resources on here but no nearer any answers. At the moment it looks like no points although travel and mobility (due to breathing problems and arthritis as well) are a real problem for me.

I have had a face to face assessment. Assessor gave no points for 11 and 12. The successful legal challenge may help but I am unsure. I have ASD, general anxiety and recurrent depression. I am fine when travelling with someone but get stressed and overwhelmed very quickly particularly when speaking to people and travelling. But no planning and following journey criteria apply as laid out. I don't travel unless forced to but do travel by bus when I have to. I can plan a journey but whilst travelling, even on familiar routes I get stressed. I miss stops due to 'dreaming' and then have to figure out a way to right my journey which can be especially stressful. I have been known to break down completely and been 'rescued' by very kind strangers when I don't know where I am . I don't approach people because I am too distressed. I am not good with knowing where I am going, get confused very easily because overwhelmed by all the signage.

But as far as i can see none of the descriptors apply.

Any ideas anyone? I have to send my MR letter off tomorrow.

The Going Out activity looks at three things.

Planning a route - this is primarily a cognitive or sensory (e.g. blindness) activity. You are being asked about the problems you would have with working out how to get from one place to another, you do not need to be able to follow the route that you are planning.

Undertaking a Journey - this is do with mental health issues such as agoraphobia and social anxiety and is concerned with you leaving the house to go somewhere, they will be interested in the things that stop you doing this. You need to show that you would suffer "overwhelming psychological distress" to meet the criteria.

Following a route - This activity about the problems you would have navigating a route. So are there problems cognitive, sensory or mental health issues that would prevent you from doing this? This is different from undertaking a journey, in fact if you cannot undertake a journey then you will struggle to score points for following one.

Your post suggests that might have problems following a route, I want to stress that this is about the problems you would stop you navigating a route, so things like your missing stops on your journey because of your "dreaming£ would count, but you will need to also have problems with more simple journeys such as your walking to the shops.
