Hello, , i have had my decision and i only scored 4 points as per assessment lady had said- some of it lies!
I did send in the extra info from doctor about the other descriptors, but obviously this hasn't got there in time as they would only of received that yesterday.
Now what do i do now?
Ring and ask for a MC or write???
Ring and ask about this extra information i sent? ( would this make a difference now?
Will they let us talk to the DM ??? or not?
I had indefinite DLA lower care higher mobility. This will stop on the 15th May
I received April DLA so will i not receive another payment?? I thought that you received 1 payment after decision letter.
Thanks. advice greatly appreciated.

DLA is paid four weekly in arrears or for a small number of claimants three weekly in arrears and one week in advance, this means you will receive one more DLA payment but it will likely be a partial payment.

You may be able to speak to the DM but I would wait a while before pushing for this to allow your letter to get to the right department so that you have something to talk about.

The first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your claim, have a look at our PIP MR & Appeal guide for details of the process, the PIP area also has template letters that you can use to make the request with.

Your primary task is to show that you meet the criteria, there are many reasons you may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect, it is a lot easier to argue the facts of the situation;

"the assessor recorded that I walked 50m, I did but they have failed to document that I had to stop every 10m for a rest due to breathlessness"

than their opinions

"based on my observations of the claimant walking I believe that they can reliably walk more than 200m.

Thank you Gordon.
So for now do I just send a letter including any extra evidence & where I think the assessor has not understood my needs for the MR.
Will look at the PIP guides for help
Do I need to ring as well to say I’m doing this???
Also when I address the letter on the envelope shall I put “ decision maker MR”
Thankyou Butterfly

If you ring them then they will treat your call as a request for an MR and may make a Decision before you letter has a chance to reach them.

Yes, address it as you have suggested.

Oh ok!
I will just send in a letter signed for & then wait 10-14 days or so then contact them!
As I’d presume it takes awhile to get to the correct department.
Would the GP letter I sent special delivery still be put on the system? Being as I’ve now had a decision letter???
Would this be what you’d recommend.
I’m not too keen on ringing the DWP again as they’re not overly helpful!
Thanks Butterfly

The letter should still be on their system but I would still send a copy with your MR request, make sure you comment on the fact that it was submitted before the Decision.
