I've just filled in my PIP reassessment form and just waiting for a letter from my GP before posting.

Given all the terrible news of assessors not turning up at your house/flat, I am really worried that - hopefully it won't come to it and my assessment will go through on paper evidence - but if they give me a home visit I'll be in a state and a half.

Delivery drivers etc have a hell of a job finding this place as it's a secure block of 55 flats where you have to find it first, work out to get around the back to the main entrance, then work out how to use the intercom system in order to be let in any individual flats

If, I am unlucky enough to be given a home visit appointment, how easy is it to change it to a normal ftf at an assessment centre as this is definitely what I'll be wanting to do?

Thanks,

Phrank.

It should not be a problem moving the appointment to their offices but understand that this will count as you one opportunity to change it, so you must attend or you risk your claim being closed, so make sure that you book the new date while you are on the phone to ensure that it is convenient.

Also, your attending at their offices if a home assessment is offered will undermine the reasons that they made the offer in the first place, so if you have problems with the Mobility activities or the Mixing with Other People activity then consider whether what you have written on the PIP2 form is sufficient.

Thanks Gordon.

I never thought about it like that. I'll wait and see what happens and then act the best way I think is best.

Had my face to face at home today. ( mine is difficult too to find to, but she got here fine ) assessor app was between 10/12, came at 10 .25. I was totally stressed out, but got through. She was here hour n a half, and I'm so glad my hubby had photo copied some of the form I sent as I'm certain the assessor had never read a single thing written about me written on my form or read any of the evidence sent with it!!. I couldn't have remembered without looking at the printed page, and had just assumed she would be looking at my form and known all my conditions and problems, but she only knew my name,
Thought she never asked to look at my identity evidence that they said I needed.
She barley looked at me , just immediately switched on her laptop, and started asking me to. State my conditions and medications and how they affected me!
I have memory problems, and but for my hubby being with me and having made a photocopy of the big list of my conditions and meds, I would have been stumped other than a couple of my serious conditions, that I remember , and but would have forgotten another dozen things!! Don't think I told her half of what I should have, but it's difficult.
It was all just typed on the computer other than a few minutes when she asked me to do some arm/ shoulder movements. Some wrist hand movements , then to stand and bend forward as far as I could. . Never asked for my two I'd verifications like it said they would.
Was just glad when she went, was stressed out have anxiety and depression as well.
My advice is to have your own notes written down as she did not know the first thing about me , didn't have any info about me, and didn't have the medical evidence I had sent . It says they read your med evidence when they get to your home, then start the assessment but she had nothing except my name!.i offered her 4 new sheets of new evidence, one being a discharge letter from hospital 8 days ago, she didn't look at them and said she didn't need them. So feel it was waste of time the effort put into completing the form and what big amount of evidence I sent..? When she left she said, 4/6 weeks before I here anything..
She said she was a disability assessment nurse. Will let you know when my letter arrives.
Hope your assessment goes well

Thanks, Molly. Will have to see what happens with my letter and supporting evidence, I really have tried to include everything this time in the hope they won't send for me but do a paper assessment instead. Will keep you posted. Keep us posted on what happens with yours, please.

Hope it goes well for you, and you get the elusive paper assessment.
I thought I might have got away without a face to face, as I sent 40 + pages of good addition medical evidence. Think very few do though.
So I wonder if they only read the form and evidence After, they have completed the assessment?? Could that be a possibility? Assesor certainly knew nothing whatsoever about me other than my name. Whatever happens make sure you get a good photocopy of your completed form and whatever you send. Also send it in sighted for, just in case.
