Hi can anyone update me about the Smi loan process? It supposedly came into force in the beginning of April 18 that the interest paid by DWP toward people's mortgages went over to a loan. I contacted the Mortgage section of the DWP at end of March as I had heard that there was a delay in administering the change to loan from SERCO. Lots of people affected had not been contacted and the take up of the loan was v low. The Dwp adviser told me the scheme was going to be implemented late and that there would be 6 weeks grace (ie mid May). I held off accepting the loan on this basis. I still have had no contact about what the position is now. Does anyone know if the change went ahead in April to loans? Or has it been postponed officially? Thanks
