Hi

Just a quick question, I received my PIP review form last week, I was kind of expecting it tbh as I know PIP reviews are sent out around a year before an award is due to expire, but it was still most unwelcome. I have read the PIP review guide. In my case my circumstances are pretty much the same as two years ago, there hasn't been an significant change either way so I was going to tick those boxes, on the form it says if there is no change then there is no need to supply further information. But I am worried that this will look odd. I have FMS, arthritis, hypermobility and a few other issues like pernicious anaemia, anxiety etc.

As with many of us I have been "parked" by the NHS and now manage my condition as best I can with strong painkillers, sleep medication and antidepressants. I am now on a couple of different medications than before but they are not for conditions that I was awarded PIP for and so I wasn't going to make a point of those. Other than to include them on my form.

Even if I just tick no change should I still include a resume of the points I made on my original form? I am worried that just ticking no change and not including any additional information is going to flag me up. I would really like to avoid a f2f again if possible as its is really aggravating my anxiety. Do you know what percentage of claimants are called in for a f2f for a review?

I don't have any additional medical information to submit either as apart from my GP and an unrelated visit to A&E earlier this year I haven't seen any other health professional and I am worried this will count against me as well. Thank you.

Far from simplifying the reassessment process, the AR1 form actually seems to be making more difficult.

From the feedback we get in the forum there is no clear strategy for dealing with this form, results are wildly varying and what works for one person often does not walk for others. All I can recommend is that you complete the form in a way that you believe is correct.

Some very basic rules that do seem to apply.

- If you mention a change then you need to document it in full.
- the more you write the more likely are to have a face to face
- writing nothing will not necessarily avoid a F2F

Remember the criteria is the same and reliably and on the majority of days still apply.

Hi

Thanks very much for the reply. I think I will just tick no change and keep it brief. I haven't really got anything useful to add, apart from that and as you say it seems completely random as to whether you get called in for a f2f. I guess they just pull names out of a hat. I will keep you posted.

Hi

Just a quick update, had the dreaded brown envelope today, it was from the DWP regarding my recent PIP renewal form that I sent off in May. I got exactly the same award as before, standard care and enhanced mobility. I didn't have to go for a f2f and it has been awarded until 2021. So three years as before and they will presumably contact me a year or so before it runs out, like this time.

A huge sigh of relief, very happy I didn't have to go for another assessment and it took just over 6 weeks from when I sent the form back to hear, so quite a quick turnover. I just ticked the no change boxes and returned the form.

Good luck to all those waiting to hear and thanks again to Gordon for his help. This site is an absolute godsend.
