Act now or wait for a decision? was created by Porridge
I seek you wise counsel. DLA indefinite awarded 2014. PIP force-over interview 17 May. Received PA 4 today. HCP recommended 6 points for care, 4 for mobility. Ergo Nothing. I supplied a large range of very detailed and supportive up to date reports, scans and a recent hospital dischage summary. The lady did not seem to have read my actual PIP application form?

We may face homelessness, on the street, and I will not make it throuh winter because I have a chronic and severe illness.

Can I do anything to intervene before the case Manager makes a decision. I am aiming for 12 points on daily living, which would be both honest and fair (unlike the current assessment).

There may still be a small window for you to write to the Decision Maker at the DWP office dealing with your claim highlighting any issues that you feel that there are with the report, I would also recommend that you also go back to the PIP Claim guide to make sure you have explained your limitations in regard the PIP Descriptors.

OK, I will reply to it tomorrow, do I just address it to Case Management at the same place that sent the report? My original PIP form was very comprehensive. The person said they did a mental health assessment when they didn't. I recorded the session and provided them with a tape. Also said I was well kempt, I hadn't washed for four weeks and was wearing a mildewed cardigan with sick down it and jeans with encrusted with dried up food, and my skin was covered in weeping absesses. Said I looked well, but I had a fever, I had vomitted on the way to the interrogation and I had not slept for three nights/days, so I don't know about that.

Yes, use the address on the letter that accompanied the assessment report.

Dear Gordon

I did as you kindly and helpfully suggested above. I then received an award three weeks later, which had added two more ponts than the useless assessor had suggested and an extra year. So thank you for that, as it means I gained an award of PIP rather than nothing at all. A pre-emptive response before-decision move seems to be a very good idea if deployed in a timely fashion.

However, the actual award is still wrong and I am going to appeal.

The PIP face to face assessor was completely badly trained, disability unaware, well out of their depth and didn’t know what the fudge they were doing with me, and quite probably with all the other poor PIP claimaints they have ever encountered. In fact, I would have awarded them the highest level mobility owing to difficulty moving around with extreme weight problems (morbidly obesity) and also obvious arthritis (this was a nurse in their early 30s), and also I would have awarded the highest level daily living owing to having a very strained relationship with reality, visual and aural hallucinations and delusions, judging by what they put on my assesment report and how radically it differed to what actually happened during my assessment . Fortunately I have the tape to prove it too.

Anyway, onwards and upwards.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and everyone else too.
