Motability lost was created by Jimmy
Dear Gordon,
My Wife has suffered with Central Core disease since birth, is is a form of Muscular Dystrophy.
She is very disabled and it hurts to see her struggling walking, trying to get upsatairs and every day tasks.
Eighteen months ago she lost her Motablity Enhanced rate and received the Standard rate plus Enhanced care component.
She was very upset at the decision by the French lady, and unfortunately did not have the courage to fight the decision at the time.
She did put on the form that she is frightened to go out alone and if she falls can not get up again on her own. But she did say she can walk 50 metres, we know now that it should be 20 metres and not reliably.......we should have used your advice.
Please can you advise how we go about trying to get her Motability back again.
Please advise of any forms we need and where to send them.
Because this has been a lifetime illness, she does not have much in the way of medical letters etc. but she is under a specialist Consultant at Bristol who deals with rare diseases.
Really lost on this and would appreciate any help.
Kindest regards
Jim.

If the previous Decision was 18 months ago then it is to late to revisit it, you can however, report a Change of Circumstances if your wife's conditions have deteriorated.

Be aware that doing this will result in a full reassessment of her claim, a new claim form and almost certainly a face to face assessment, the new Decision, whatever it is, will supersede her current award.

If you want to go ahead then write to the DWP office dealing with her claim explaining about the change, I would send it by a Tracked post so that you have proof of delivery.
