Understanding the rules around a non-dependent

Hello
I am in receipt of pip and have just been awarded the disability component of working tax credit. I live alone in my own property. If a non-dependent working adult came and stayed with me temporarily would this be classed as a change in circumstances that I would need to report. I am reading mixed things. Some seem to say that if in receipt of pip a non dependent person's earnings can be ignored. Can you clarify the rules around this for me please as whilst I want to help, I cannot risk my benefits and need to ensure that I am understanding the rules correctly.
Many thanks
Jane

I'm sorry but we do not advise on Tax Credits on the forum, however, I did find the following

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
