How long are PIP reviews taking at the moment?

As the title really. It will be 4 weeks tomorrow that they confirmed receipt. I was told "Should be quite quick, 4-6 weeks", during my last phone call. But I realise they are having to do the reassessment for psychological distress with going out, something I also suffer from and was on my original claim.

Anyhow, any info re turnaround times will stop me panicking.

Hope you had a good break Gordon

The reassessment of existing awards due to the Mobility changes is a separate activity there may be some knock on effect to normal reassessments due to staff being re-assigned but we haven't seen anything reported on the forum about this yet and probably won't for at least a month.

We are heading into the holiday season so I would expect the process to slightly extend from 13 weeks to maybe 16 weeks, new form being issued to Decision Letter being sent, depending on what the 4-6 weeks was supposed to encompass it does not seem very likely.

I had the form for my review of my current PIP award sent in April. Due to moving house my return date was extended to 8th June 2018. You may remember the claim was erroneously closed and they reinstated it a week later when they received my AR1 (1) form. The case had already been seen by a case manager because of it being stopped.

It was a week after I sent the form in, I was told by DWP person that it shouldn't be long now, around 4-6 weeks before I get a decision.

I was thinking exactly as you said, that holiday season was upon us and that slows stuff up.

So is the number of weeks from when they send the form out or from when I send the form back?

Is it worth phoning or better to just leave them to it?

The 13/16 weeks would run from receiving the PIP2/AR1 form so you will need to factor in the delay caused by the DWP's mistake, the next stage is for the Assessment Provider for your postcode to decide whether an assessment is required or not, best guess is 3-5 weeks from when the DWP received your form or more likely when they re-activated your claim.

I had a letter from Capita today saying they had been handed my case file from DWP to assess whether I need a f2f.

What are Capita like? Any hints, tips or warnings about them would be very useful.

There's little to separate IAS (formerly ATOS) and Capita, they both have good and bad assessors, the only real difference is that Capita tend to give home assessments more easily than ATOS.
