A home assessment is an acceptance that you would have problems attending at their offices but this does not always translate into a recommendation of an award.

It's up to you where and how the assessment is done if your conditions mean that you would normally be in bed at this time then you should not change your routine just for the assessment.

If you need it then make a list of your typical daily activities, if you have to refer to it then explain to the assessor why you have had to.

The PP Claim guide has sections on the assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked.

hello there ,well i dont know what to make of this, this morning (well this afternoon she was very late),i had my face to face with atoss, she was a young lady very polite ,but she had travled from birmingham some 2 hour drive i believe, and when she got here i was in bed,i had fallen off the loo the last week and my arm was in a sling i told her what had happend and she carried on with the f2f,she never had any papers with her,so i asked if she had read the evidance i had sent in with the claim form she said she had read some or most,i had it printed at the side of me incase,,i also had a new letter from myback consultant i gave it but she only glanced at it,,she never took it with her, when i asked if she wanted a coffee she said she wouldent be here long enough to drink it,,one or two questions and that was the end of it,she saw the comode in the bedroom and that my tablets are locked away in the safe,,she stood up and said im going to sugest they dont ever review you again, and went, well she said goodbye and good luck,,so im left woundering what went on,,im delighted it went the way it did,but after years of reading bad write ups about all the bad things i really dident think it would be so easy,so the more i think about it the more i worry,,but iv come to the conclusion its gonna be one of 3 things iether she is genuine and did the homework before she got here;;she did know about a few things some doctors dont know about hepatic enchepholopathy,so maybey thats the case,,,or she is that confident she can go away and write any old rubish down and be believed wich has happed iv heard,i noticed the other day while going over some old documents that the last two times i filled in claim forms for dla and esa it was atos that dealt with it,i dident know at the time iv only just found out now, becouse i was in a very bad way at the time fighting to stay alive,so my wife did most the form filling, but id never been called for a face to face with them,,infact it was them who gave me a indefinite dla,,so it turns out i have had dealings with atos before,,so like i said at the begining i dont know how to take this face to face,it looks and sounds as though i will get some sort of award,,any input on this if possible would be eagerly waited for,,,thanks for listening ,,,,john,ps when she sat down she said so some things have changed with your pip your on pip arnt you?,,i said no im on dla its to transfer me,so she thought i was on pip allready, carnt think why....

Her report should be submitted to the DWP in the next couple of days so you should be able to request a copy Thursday or Friday.

I'm afraid there are significant delays in the Decision process at the moment with members currently reporting wait times of 12 weeks.

Yes, we have but with mixed results so I can't really give you an idea of how yours might unfold.
