Recording pip assessments was created by Chrissy
Hi
I may sound paranoid but I've read a lot of people who have had PIP assessments say that the assessor lied on the report and as a consequence people are recording their pip assessments.
I read that they only accept two identical CD or Cassettte recordings but these seem impossible to source from my research.
I am wondering if they provide recording equipment themselves, or (sounding paranoid again) could they lie and say they could not get hold of equipment to record the interview?
When researching the rules regarding pip assessment recording i just got bamboozled and muddled and as a result more stressed.
Can anyone give me advice on exactly what is required?
I don't fancy trying to source obsolete media machines.
Amazon advertise dual CD recorders, but not only are they expensive, the products I looked up are unavailable.
All help appreciated
Thanks

I'm afraid you need to provide the equipment.
You need permission in advance from the Assessment Provider to make the recording.
It needs to be made to two tapes of CDs simultaneously.
You cannot use a digital recorder such as a mobile phone.
Someone has today reported problems is the media is not new, so make sure that the tapes or CDs are still shrink wrapped and opened in the presence of the assessor.
You need to give one of the recordings to the assessor.
Most members have used two relatively cheap cassette recorders, check that they record without problem, some have used external microphones.
