Capita - Home Assessments was created by Sjay
Thank you for reading my message informing you of the subsequent no show of the assessor on my home visit appointment Friday 6th July 2018.
Capita had asked me to ring today Monday 9th July 2018 after 12.30pm for an explanation as to why the assessor did not show. The explanation sent me into a full anxiety attack that my husband once again took over the telephone call.
Capita's assessor had reported she had knocked at the door and there was no reply and went on to describe the house and vehicle in the drive. A complete lie.
Both my husband and I were in all morning awaiting the assessor and when 45mins had passed from the allotted appointment time rang Capita of our concern. The full report is on my message dated 6th July 2018.
Our lounge has two large windows one looking over the drive and the other facing the footpath to our front door .No person could have passed without either of us seeing. At one point my husband went to the end of the drive to look up and down the road to see if he could see anyone.
My husband asked Maria (Capita) what time the assessor had supposedly called. Maria checked her report and said the assessor had not put a time down. Maria (Capita) then looked back to our telephone conversations on the 6th July and realised we had called twice during the allotted assessment time as the assessor had not shown. Maria (Capita) stated she could not give another appointment for a home visit for another 5 days as an investigation now has to take place.
The advice now is to ring 13th July 2018 for further details.
A further telephone call to the DWP was made to update them on the above. All they have received from Capita was that the appointment was cancelled and no further details.
I sent a written report to the decision maker reporting the events last Friday.

I will be having a Capita home assessment. Would you suggest I got a cheap doggy cam thing which will film the front door with a time and date?

I was with the old Atos before and she turned up on time.

IT's up to you. although we have seen the problem with ATOS (now IAS), it is mostly Capita that have had the problem.

If you don't install a camera, then you could ring ATOS 15 minutes before the appointment, at the time of the appointment and then 15 minutes after, to show that you were at home. Obviously use a land line and not a mobile to do this if at all possible.
