DLA Supersession for 77 yr old was created by Lorraine
Morning,
My daughter sent my 77 yr old mums supersession request for her increased dla care needs due to her copd on 24th May.
Have tracked it and it’s been signed for.
Mum wants her to chase but I am not so sure, worried about rocking the boat.
Any advice please, how long should we wait?
Thank you

I'm not sure what boat you would be rocking :)

You need to contact the DWP for an update.

Daughter called dwp, who state forms sent in June.....no way.

Sending again, but if not heard by next Friday have to call again. They really are hopeless.

Anyway I have a question please if I may.
My mother become ill in October and sent request for supersession in May. Since then her new meds have improved her symthoms but she is not back to where she was before the phumonia etc of last October I.e. care needs still increased. So when filling out the form does my daughter state how she was back then or now?

Thank you for your time.

You have to complete the form based on how she is now assuming you expect her problems to stay as they are now.

Thank you so much for your time.
My daughter spoke to her this evening, and she says she is contemplating not filling in the form, as she has some improvement due to new meds and cant face a long struggle and f2f at the age of 77. She is just so relieved to have gained some normallaty back in her life.

Dwp had not pursed it even through they stated they sent the forms two months ago. So if the forms do arrived this time and she didn’t return them, will that be it and everything stay as it is?

Providing the DWP are happy for the form not be returned then it should be OK, but if not then they can suspend payment until the form is returned.
