ESA and Working children was created by mums
Can anyone advise please?
I am in receipt of ESA income related, in the support group, i get the severely disabled element too.
My daughter has just finished Uni and is starting a job in a few weeks. Will this affect the ESA? Do I need to inform them? Everything I read says you or your partners circumstances changing, not household. She has always lived here, so she isn't a new person. I know HB and CT benefit both change. Although I was under the impression HB is protected if on Dla.
I am starting to worry as the benefits calculators show different amounts for ESA if she is a student/working or if I am living alone.
Thank you! I am so sorry if this has been asked before

If she lives with you then she will be treated as a non-dependant adult, unless she is herself receiving a qualifying DLA or PIP award then this will prevent payment of the Severe Disability Premium as you will no longer be considered as living alone.
