Thanks to this site, i have rightly been placed back into the support group after asking for recon. I have contacted the DWP for a copy of my med exam at least 3 times & finally today it arrived. LIES, LIES & more LIES, this is a scandal & please advise all subsribers to ensure their medical is recorded somehow. Absolute scandal, DWP are putting job vacancies to take people off benefits!! They dont care what your "qualification" is, as long as you can get shut of people!! !! this is just a quick example, but they word it in an innocent way. Go onto any agency & type PIP & we see what that search brings up

I know what you mean. It was my recent PIP review with me, though.

I recorded the interview/assessment and the HCP STILL told a pack of lies and contradicted everything.

Yes, make sure you do have your ESA or PIP assessment recorded, but don't kid yourself that this will work out in your favour.

Mine didn't, she scored me zero accross the board; I am still waiting for the decision. Let's hope the DWP take note of all the extra info I've sent including a letter that gives the true account of what happened.

Once again; don't think for a second that recording the interview makes you immune from lying assessors!

Today I found out from IAS (was ATOS) that the recordings are for their safeguarding only and are not routinely sent to the DWP (my HCP told me she was sending it to DWP), although they are stored securely for 14 months before being destroyed.
DWP told me that they NEVER request a recording because they need written permission from the HCP to listen to it and also they do not have the facility to listen to anything or to download anything and listen to it!
I was also told that it should have been stated in my MR decison letter that the DM had not listened to the recording of my assessment, This is because I referenced it multiple times in my MR letter that I sent in.
The outcome of the conversation was a suggestion to send off the appeal form with a transcript of the recording, and it might just get overturned without going to the tribunal.
It's worth a try!!

Recorded my PIP assessment both times and both times such inaccuracies and contradictions in the reports. It's better to have it though because if you don't and you go to a tribunal and are asked for it to prove anything, you can't.

Yes, I think I get the picture now regarding recording assessments.

The assessment provider hold on to the tapes and put them away somewhere, even though they tell you they are sending them to the DWP.

When I phoned the PIP helpline a week ago my call was escalated to a Case Manager who said she had never heard of a tape being sent to them.

So the purpose of recording your assessment is still worth doing as you legally have a copy of the interview if you do need to use it for evidence at an apeal.

And of course once you have the equipment, it's there for future assessments.

Peace of mind, I suppose.
