I was re assessed and form returned by the 8th May 2018 and face to face was 17th July 2018.

Assessor states in opening letter " at this time I can't award you PIP for help with your mobility need from 8 May 2018. Physical assessment not done till July!!

I have been awarded the Standard rate of £57.30 with daily living from 12th September.

We will pay £180 in to your account on 4th October this is the money we owe you from 12 September to 3 rd October!
I am totally confused, my understanding was that it is paid in arrears. That being the case my payment on the 14th August was for july. The letter is dated 11th August so why is it taking so long for the change ot take place!

The assessor has failed to mention that I had someone with me and there are some errors in the information she wrote down.

What is my best course of action, am okay with the care component its the motability one I dis agree with.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Were you receiving DLA prior to claiming PIP? If you were then there is a four week run-on of your DLA before your PIP award starts and then your PIP should be paid four weeks later, although this is not fixed and can vary on when your payment week is.

If you weren't receiving DLA then your award should be backdated to the date you started the claim, this is usually the day that you phoned them, subject to your limitations having been in place for at least three months.

What did you expect to score for the Mobility component and for what activity?

Hi Gordon,

Thank you for the response. I am not very good with technology at all and struggle.

Yes I was in receipt of the lower rate of DLA and have been for about 15 years. This was a migration from DLA to PIP... My payment day has always been a Tuesday. The decision letter was written on the 11 August and sent, they then made the payment on the 14th August (Tuesday) apparently the next payment will be the 4th October for the period from 12/09/2018 and this is for £180.00 so am guessing that no September payment .

I was expecting to score 4 for the mobility part, the plan and follow a route or journey unaided.

I had someone with me for the assessment but the assessor has ade no reference to this at all in the report . I use a walking stick as I can be unsteady and fall, hence why I dont go out alone.

Hope this is of help to you

The payments during the transition from DLA to PIP can be confusing you need to wait until you have received your first full PIP payment then you can look back over your last full DLA payment, any part DLA payment and any part PIP payment.

Forgive me, you say you expected to score four points for the Mobility component, this is not sufficient for an award so I am not sure what action you would take.
