DLA to PIP transfer was created by Mory
So I got the dreaded Brown letter a few months ago. Got help from a local benefits help agency filling in the form (a person seemingly highly recommended by MIND). I currently have an indefinite award of Middle rate care and low rate mobility DLA.

I've only got supporting evidence from MIND, My GP, Richmond Fellowship and a kind of supporting letter from my private counsellor. My counsellor sadly died in the midst of this so the counsellor I transferred to could only really write a letter explaining the circumstances and advised me to attach the letter I had been given for my ESA, which I have to say isn't really applicable to PIP. I'm no longer under the mental health team (not because i'm any better but because MH is crap) which worries me.

I'm not sure how i'm going to fair considering i'm having to appeal ESA. I just wondered what was the average time scale to hear back from a decision?.

They sent me a txt on 8th Aug Thanking me for my 'how your disability affects you' form. and saying - We may may need you to attend a consultation with a health professional before we make our decision. We will contact you again if we do.

What are the timescales for a decision? They say in the letter if you need a f2f you'll get one within 8 weeks.
Between this and ESA my anxiety is all over the shop. :(

Things are a bit delayed due to Summer holidays so I would expect you to hear about a face to face in about 2-6 weeks with an appointment some 1-3 weeks later, a Decision will then take a further 2-6 weeks.

Thanks Gordon :)

I actually received a letter today and have been offered a home assessment for Tuesday the 18th of Sept. I'm quite surprised at them just offering a home visit, I thought I would have to fight for it or not get one. I did put on the form that I would potentially need a home visit if a support worker wasn't available as I would not be able to attend at an assessment centre by myself.

Very different from ESA people who's unhelpful response to my recovery worker over the phone was 'well how did she get to the last assessment!' (I had an NHS support worker along with me for that one).

Oh well it's in the lap of the Gods, I'm not particularly optimistic after my farce ESA assessment.
