ESA Support Group advice please was created by Maxi66
Hi folks,

First time poster so please be gentle.

I currently receive ESA in the support group and also PIP at lower rate mobility and higher rate daily needs.

My last assessment was for PIP less than a year ago and they agreed with everything me and my doctors said and granted me PIP until the end of 2021 with a review late 2020.

Nothing has changed, although in some respects my health is worse and I have just received an ESA Capability for Work questionnaire to fill out which is lengthy and very like the PIP form questions like.

Should I be getting this? or do they not cross link systems? Or is it just another way for DWP to see if my circumstances have changed.

I keep all my paperwork in photocopies so I can recall exactly what I said a year ago so no problem here.

In fact at my last assessment the assessor said to me "I am so sorry, you should not even be here."

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Max.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Although there are some similarities, ESA and PIP assess different aspects of your health and for different reasons.

Have a look at our ESA Claim guides for assistance with completing your ESA50.
