Thanks Gordon,
The lady I spoke to on Friday was categorical that my ESA payments would continue uninterrupted. She even joked about DWP letters not being very helpful! But if this is not standard procedure maybe she's wrong about that ??? It seems I'll only know for sure when I check my account on the 13th.
Yes, I was confusing PIP appeal stats with MCs. Thanks for clarifying.
I'm not as worried about having points reduced as having the PIP award, or one of the categories, removed altogether. (I scored 11 for daily living and 10 for mobility).
However, the more I look at the statement of entitlement and the assessor's report, the more I think they need to look at it again. Can you please tell me if a statement of reasons is the same as the statement of entitlement and/or the assessor’s report, or would I have to ask for it separately?
I also have some new medical evidence about a significant deterioration in one of my conditions and I have an appointment on Wednesday in a new hospital department to address complications arising from this. Clinic notes generally arrive a couple of weeks after the appointment. Can they be submitted after the CRMR1 has been sent?
I also have an appointment with my GP tomorrow. I’m sure she will write a further letter supporting me on the specific points I want to dispute. Would this also count as new evidence?

Many thanks

So you have the assessment report and the Decision Makers Statement of Reasons which is part of the Entitlement/Decision Letter.

You can send evidence after the MR has been requested but you must state that you will be doing this in the request, the DWP should allow you a further 28 days but be aware that this includes postage.

Any deterioration of your conditions or limitations that were not considered as part of the Decision cannot now be looked at.

Providing the GP letter is only in regard to your problems at the time of the Decision then it should be accepted.

If your deterioration is significant then you can report a Change of Circumstances but be aware that this will result in a full reassessment of your claim.
