D.W.P. Interview was created by Mineral1968Jehovahgod1956
Can anyone help. I am in the E.S.A. Support Group, the D.W.P have demanded to assess my financial status wanting to see my Bank Statements and a lot more besides. My Wife works on low pay and does not claim any benefits, yet the D.W.P. are demanding to assess her financial status demanding to see her Bank Statements and a lot more besides with the threat of stopping my benefit.

If my Wife fails to produce such details does the D.W.P. have the right to demand to see my Wife's Bank Statements etc.

What ESA are you receiving, Income Related, Contribution Based or a combination of the two?

Hi Gordon

I am on contribution based E.S.A. Support Group if that is any help. Are the D.W.P. entitiled to see my Wife's Bank statements and the like if she is not on benefits and is working? and what are they really up to, are they trying to get me off my benefit?

Kind Regards

Alan

If you are only receiving ESA(CB) then the claim is in your name only and as far as I am aware the DWP have no legal authority to access your wife's information, however, they can make it very difficult for you if the information is not provided.

You could try providing your information as requested and ask for their reasons for requesting your wife's.
