Do DWP do Random checks by saying someone has made was created by Poppy
Hi hope you can help. Is it true that DWP for pip and ESA carry out random checks. Sending out letters to contact compliance dept and tell them someone has telephoned to say they think you not entitled to benefit. I was tool it was some from my gym. But they knew my address and car reg. Firstly I do not discuss anything like that and how they know where I live I do not know.
Do you think the DWP just say that someone called to report you when no one called Thanks

There are two issues rather than one.
The DWP can carry out a random check on anybody's claim at any time but these are quite rare.
Being reported to the Fraud Line is a separate issue as is the process that follows.

Thank you but can they say someone called in when there was no call. Just so they can u randonly sent letter out to check up. Thanks

Why would they make something up when they have the legal right to look at your claim anyway.
