Hi.
Not really sure of what I should do here new member
I made an appeal April 2001, was informed only last week my appeal was successful & received a substantial backdated payment.
However the letter says I have been placed on the Work Related Activy Group, I have rheumatoid & oesteo arthritis & my hands are severely damaged & I now experience severe pain in my feet. The thought of having to take part in any work related activity is making me extremely anxious & I'm not coping with this very well could someone please assist me with any information I may require I have another capacity for work questionnaire to fill,in.
Also does anyone know if this backdated payment I received affects my claim for ESA?
Very anxious person here
Thank You in advance

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I've moved your post to its own topic as you replied to a post from over five years ago!
Please see our ESA Claim guides for assistance with completing this new ESA50
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1
You will need to show that you meet one or more of the Support Group Descriptors to be moved out of the WRAG.
Your back pay should be disregarded for 52 weeks. If you are only receiving Contribution Based ESA then your savings have no impact on your ESA.
If you have more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
