I can’t find an accurate or reliable answer to this query on the net, so thought I would ask here.
I’m aware of the High Court ruling that the PIP mobility descriptors were discriminatory towards mental health claimants. I’m also aware that following the decision DWP are reviewing PIP claims to see if claimants we’re entitled to the mobility component when they have not been awarded it at their original decision.
I’m a PIP claimaint since June 2015. I was awarded Enhanced Rate Care Component but no mobility component. I scored 4 points on the mobility descriptors.
I would like to know if there is a chance my decision will be reviewed and that I may qualify for the Mobility Component at either rate, due to my psychiatric disorders.
What is confusing me is that some websites are reporting that only claimns from November 2016 will be eligible to be reassessed under the new guidelines, when other sites report that all claims re being reviewed.
If you could let me know more about this change it would be appreciated,.
