Hi sorry i think we are talking at cross purposes.

He talks about how disabled i am, how my walking is, how impaired etc, all of which is categoric & certain language. But then there is an additional paragraph starting "she informs me" giving extra detail about difficulties with cooking & bathing.

what i'm trying to get your opinion on is whether if I am going to be made worse by attempting to deal with it & dont bother, will that be a calamity for my entire claim, or just the descriptors he covers in the "she informs me paragraph"

So that if i'm unable to deal with it, or if i try & deal with it & he wants to leave it in, will it likely harm my claim left in there?

I think the GPs intent was the former, but it's not really about his intent because he is leaving in 3 days time & wont be able to follow up anyway, so it's more about the DWP interpretation /7 whether they will think his equivocation on those 3 descriptors in an indication of equivocation on everything else.

I can't make the call for you, you have to balance the benefit versus any damage it could do and whether to ask the GP to change it.

Thanks. I realise i have maybe worded my questions as if i was asking you to make that call for me... I'm not, obviously i have to weigh up the pros & cons - that's what i'm trying to do. I'm just trying to establish what, & how serious, the cons could be if i leave it in there (in the context of a letter that is otherwise great & clearly indicating I "very disabled"), so that i can weigh that against the possible personal cons of asking for it to be removed.
It was that i was hoping for input on as you guys will have more experience of that than I do.

I appreciate your help & patience

These statements are quite common if you have positive evidence to support your claim then I think it unlikely that it will do any harm, if you don't or the evidence is old, then it may as it will reinforce the view that your issues are not ones that require help.

Gordon thank you so so much, i don't know what i'd do without you & the B&W team.

I have an excellent & up to date letter from my CPN, & 2 very good letters from both my carers, and the rest of the GP letter is very good, he even finishes it by saying that from his point of view he feels benefits are justified.

So I will try to speak to him & get it changed as long as i feel mentally well enough. But if i judge that the risk of my going into crisis as a result of that conversation going poorly is high, OR, if when i do speak to him he doesn't feel comfortable removing the words "she informs me that" from that particular paragraph, then hopefully it shouldn't cause trouble if it's just left in.

Again, not asking you what to do, but does that sound sensible to you? Have i understood things correctly?
