Tribunal question was created by Jox
I have suffered from anxiety for around 10 years now and it was because of my anxiety i could not speak to my gp or anybody else about it, and this is the reason i did not mention it on my dla claim.

I was just wondering if i mentioned it at the tribunal could end up becoming a negative thing considering on my claim form i stated i had no mental health problems but now i claim to actually have them?

The only reason i want to bring up my anxiety and low self esteem is for the reason i don't regularly use a wheel chair outside, when i use a wheel chair outside it sends me anxiety through the roof and i have panic attacks i feel very paranoid and feel like everybody is looking at me, if i did not have my anxiety i would be so happy to be able to use a wheel chair outdoors as give me much more mobility, i have recently started to try and go out more in a chair more often and my anxiety has slightly improved although some days i just cant face going out at all, im hoping some time in the near future i can over come this.

but like i say at my tribunal i want to inform them that i do occasionally use a wheel chair and the only reason i don't use one full time it because of my anxiety, im just worried that this will go against me considering i did not mention the anxiety when i filled in the forms, there was one time i had a really bad panic attack and i think my mother took me to my doctor so it should be on record of panic attacks at some point i was also offerd councling which i booked an appointment but again due to my axiety i did not go

Yes you can mention it, but you should expect to be questioned about it, and it is likely that the Tribunal will assign less weight to it than if it had been declared earlier.

There's no reason why you cannot present it as evidence before the Tribunal, is your GP aware of these problems, if they are it will help.
