For anyone still interested in this topic, the DWP are refusing to divulge the details of the ‘Pilot’ into the recording of medicals (completed last month) on the ground that they relate to the formulation or development of government policy (s.35(1)(a) FOIA) and that the benefits of keeeping the results secret outweigh the public interest in disclosure.

In my view this refusal can and should be appealed, and I will set about this when I have a spare moment (‘internal review’ first).

In the meantime, if anyone has any informed\technical views to contribute to the process, now and here might well be a good time and place.

My best friend was with me and took notes. The HCP asked him what he was doing and he tried to answer but I interrupted to say that in their guidebook, it says that note taking is allowed. So be prepared for it to be queried, they don't seem to read anything about you, or their own guidelines for that matter.

Good luck and do read everything you can on this site about the medical. I found everything that was stated about the medical was entirely true. One thing that I did and was very happy that i had arranged and saved money for, was to have a car with me then entire time. I do not drive, nor does anyone I know. The HCPs were all behind and the waiting area is without proper supportive chairs for people with any type of body trouble. If you might have other conditions, it is a mental boost to have someone ready to whisk you away. It sounds silly but it really helped me on the day.

Best of luck,
cmarie

Yes, my experience is just as Gordon says. The HCP questioned and I informed him that he could find it in his handbook. He did not say any thing after that. My friend continued to take notes and that was it. No one was called in and we/I was not asked to sign any document.

Hi Jim

Thanks for the update. I really can't make any sense of the 'factors in favour for withholding this information' as you were only asking for results of concluded tests, and nothing more.

Good luck with your challenge.

Derek
