DLA and ESA was created by jacksmum1
Still waiting to hear about my DLA claim 13 weeks from applying???? I can work but have reduced my hours to 16 due to my disabilities and at present off work due to cancer treatment. My query is can I or should I have applied for ESA instead of DLA and if so would W & P be aware of this and automatically amend my claim if need be? They are aware that I have been working prior to my cancer treatment. Any advice please???

There is no reason why you cannot apply for DLA and ESA, providing your GP is prepared to certify that you are not fit for work.

Have a look at our Understanding ESA guide in the Members are to see whether you would qualify.
