Recording of medical assessment took place in March this year in Newcastle upon Tyne involving 500 volunteer claimants. Results as far am i am aware have not been published.
My understanding is that they allowed the recording to be made on a conventional tape.
If anyone wishes to record their medical this may be correct for accuracy. However you have to disclose this and any assessment will terminate.
It can be used as reference for any appeal.

Sorry Towser,

You don't have to disclose it. just don't let them know otherwise they will stop the assessment.

There is nothing illegal about covertly recording a medical for your own reference.

cheers

Sorry bro58

You are right we can tape interviews but cannot put them in the public domain.

I had my medical at home and i recorded it. I wanted evidence after my previous medical, when i received a copy of my previous medical it didnt resemble me at all. Even the answers i gave were completely changed. This time i wanted to be prepared so i borrowed a small camcorder, set it up and got it all in glorious techi colour! I also had my Welfare Rights Worker and my carer with me, trust me that Atos guy must have felt he was going into a tribunal! Not so strangely though, when i got a copy of this Atos report, it accurately reflected what happened and what was said. Unsurprisingly i won my case and was awarded what was asked for.
