They accept evidence from friend's and family, you would be good as you live with husband and you know how illness affects him all day every day and over the week. ALso go to GP a double appointment and explain (maybe write down what a typical day/week is like good times/bad times, as Gp just sees for an appointment for 5 minutes as does hospital consultant. Just get all the evidence you can, you look at the dla form and they like a statement from someone who knows you well, so you can with this like someone who knows you well to fill out a statement so you can with your claim, they have to look at everything and include it, it is worth a shot!

Hi Jackie

As you have asked a number of questions regarding this on behalf of your husband and our mods have replied several times recently, we would be grateful if you could search the forums for an answer or use the guides by clicking Members Only orange section. From the above post its difficult to determine at what stage your husbands claim is at. We can only answer general questions and not give specific advice.

Many thanks

Michael

Hi,

No, you are not limited to questions.

However as mods, we can only really explain how the process works. We cannot answer specifics as we do not have full access to all information. Hence we can only go so far to help.

That is why we do stress the need to obtain face to face advice from a Welfare Rights Agency/CAB etc. As they will have access to your case papers they are in a position to give the correct advice re a specific claim.

The guides in the members area can also help members, either if you feel you can 'go it alone' or just to give you an idea of what maybe required to claim any benefit. However there is no substitute for qualified face to face advice.

Regards

Pete
