I posted a new thread this morning which has not appeared on here?!
I have a medical booked in for my ESA claim from migration from IB ( which i am not confident in getting at all after hearing so many stories) im dreading it!

What happens at the medical, questions or physical tasks? Also, i know it varies but can anybody tell me how long they waited for their decision after a medical.

Hi IM,

We have been suffering technical problems this morning with some posts going missing.

With regards to your medical, have a look at Page 61 onwards on Claiming ESA on Physical Health Grouds, or Page 65 of the same on Mental Health Grounds.

It tells you how to prepare, and what questions may be asked.

With regards to how long it may take to hear after your medical, it seems to be taking longer recently, one member reported that they have not heard 8 weeks after a medical.

It may vary from area to area, but no definitive answer here.

If people are having to wait weeks for the decision - from what date do any changes in benefit take effect?

Hi C,

The claimant will receive a letter from the DM, in said letter it will give a date of when the change will take effect.

It seems to be around a fortnight later, however it may be dependant on your current pay cycle.
