Hi everyone,
Even though I've been a member for a couple of years, I've never posted. I've been on low rate mobility for 4yrs indefinately.

Had my form send through, which i froze wen i seen it. I had to go to a tribunal to get the low rate mobility 4yrs before. And i would never want to do that again. Form had to be in by 4th october, which i sent it in on the day after filling it in on the last day, so it wasn't the best thing to do either.

A week ago i got a letter calling me for a medical on mon 14th at 9.20am (as i am writing this i am trembling).

I suffer from dilated cardiomyopathy, which i have to have a triple lead pacemaker, which runs my upper and lower chamber.
I have really painful lower back problems, which can bring me to tears. Also have arthritis in my hands, fingers. Suffered with depression for years now but the main think i suffer is: i sweat constantly, and if i have to speak to someone thats when I'm at my worst. It starts from my head, i feel it running down my cheeks, i continuously wipe my face, it runs down sides of my nose, under my eyes, it drips off my fringe, and if it drips in my eyes then it can sting really bad. I have a big fan in my bedroom were i spend most of my time. I have had the fan on during the night when its been quite frosty outside.

I just know on Monday, that i am going to be petrified, my heart is pounding noe just writing this. Has anybody got any tips that would be useful to know for when i go. My son in law said he would come with me but i would prefer him not too come in as i dont want him to probably hear things that he didn't know.

Thanks everybody in advance, this website has been invaluable to me and should in my eyes be put up for an award!

Thanks for reading, I've probably put more on here than i did on my form.
Carol.

Unfortunately, the medical is increasingly becoming a feature of the DLA process.

There is probably little I can say that will calm your nerves, but being prepared for the medical may help.

Have a look through our DLA claim guides, there is even one that covers the questions you may be asked at the medical.

Maybe you could think about how you would fill in the form, if you had more time, you are going to get asked about your conditions and how they affect you, and this will help you answer them more constructively.

Having confidence in what you are saying may help you to cope better with the stress on the day.

Good luck
