Fibromyalgia

Although I rarely post I often come online to read how everyone is getting on...
I am coming to the end of a long list of tests that are pointing in the direction of Fibromyalgia. Won't bore everyone with symptoms etc But I thought I had a serious back problem after an accident and having to give up work 15 years ago. I thought the migraines and numerous other problems were just one of those things!!
I am concerned however, that with this new diagnosis, it may put my IB and DLA in jeopardy. I have read that many people have problems getting it to be recognised by the health authorities???
Any advice would be greatly appreciated on this subject.

I have Fibromyalgia, but was awarded DLA, firstly in 2002/03, even though I wasn't diagnosed until Oct 2008. My three awards were given to me before my diagnosis, and I have had one review (end of 2010) since my diagnosis. My DLA remained unchanged, I get HRM and HRC, (indefinitely since Summer 2008).

Thank you for the reply. Had my diagnosis confirmed today..Feels strange to have an explanation after so many years. Good thing is no real change in medication and as I have been living with it for years, will continue to do so.
My GP has assured me that he will help me when my time comes for migration. Like your link, he says it is the symptoms that count not the diagnosis.
I will be looking at various websites now to seek advice on daily management that I may not have thought of.
