what does "the non functional descriptors were not considered for this case as curtailment applied" mean?

The "non-functional descriptors" references the Exceptional Circumstances, "curtailment applied" means that they did not detail this in depth (or at all?), because you had already scored sufficient points elsewhere.

Thanks Gordon!

I just thought it odd that the Exceptional Circumstances bit was in middle of report, thought they would have been checked at beginning, hence why I wasn't sure if it meant something else.

Anyway I am thinking I might chance writing another letter instead of requesting SAR yet. Think I will write and request the ESA113 and the DM's Scoresheet. Think those two are all I really need along with the ESA85 I already have.

There is a new version of the ESA Appeals guide in the Members Only area which has a template for requesting all of the documentation related to your assessment.

Hi all,

If it's of any use, here's my experience so far with requesting paperwork from the DWP:-

On 10 November I wrote to my local JCP, requesting my ESA85A and any other relevant paperwork, as I hadn't had a medical and was appealing against WRAG placement.

The ESA85A arrived today (25 November), on its own, with no DM's score-sheet. It contained the usual descriptions of 'descriptors' :silly: and a prognosis of a return to work within 12-months.

It showed that my 'assessment' was done by a Registered Nurse. I suffer from PTSD, which is a mental-health condition, poorly understood by specialists in the UK. I have no way of knowing if the nurse has any specialist mental-health training or awareness.

There was no mention in the report of 'scores' or any reference to Exceptional Circumstances.

I submitted my GL24 appeal form two days before the ESA85A arrived, and I think now I should put in a Subject Access request, which will (hopefully) turn up the DM's score-sheet so I'll know for sure where I stand, points-wise.

As far as I can tell from other posts, this experience is fairly typical of what others can expect.

Hope this helps ...

Well on Christmas Eve I was woken early by the postman delivering a Special Delivery package to me. It was the DWP providing me with documents having done a SAR.

Only problem is the documents only go as far as 2007, none of it is recent!!! Considering in the letter I requested it for my recent transfer from IB to ESA you'd think they'd realise I wanted the recent documents!!

So now I need to write yet another letter!!!
