Medical Report Only?

Well I wrote another letter and today I got another package from them. The letter apologised for the missing items but said it was due to my recent paperwork being held in Coatbridge Office and not Glasgow. I shouldn't be surprised when someone I know in London is having her case dealt with by Glasgow!!! :silly:

Anyway couple of things I noticed which seem a bit odd to me. The ESA56 (worksheet for wca) whilst saying that the I should be "treated as limited capability for work" as I met the threshold the score sheet shows no score!!! But then you look at the ESA85 (decision makers scoresheet) and the claimant and DM's columns have no scores but the ATOS Health Professional's columns does have scores.

This begs the question I thought it was the DM who decided on the scores not the ATOS professional or am I wrong on that?

Also I scored 15 but the scores came in the first two items, does this mean the ATOS doctor just stopped scoring at this point as I had met the threshold?

I also note the decision was made about 10 days after my medical in October but it was well into November before I got told the decision and I see the date for this starting all over again is August, so not a full 12 months. :(

Hi SMC,

The ATOS HCP makes recommendations as to which group you are put in.

It is up to the DM, on whether he agrees with said recommendations.

It does seem the case, that once the threshold of qualifying for WRAG (LCW) or Support Group, (LCWRA) is reached, the assessment ceases.

Don't forget also, that the expected reassessment date is not rigid, further, they have to allow for the time taken to carry out the reassessment, filling in and returning the ESA50, etc, etc.

Thanks Bro, I knew that in appeals they stopped once they reached the 15 points as this happened to me several years ago when I went through an appeal but didn't realise it was the same for the assessment.

Is it normal/common for the ESA56 to show no scores yet the ESA85 does?

Hi smc,

I'm afraid that I cannot comment, as I have never seen an ESA56.

Maybe one of the other members have, and can offer comment.

hI smc,

I have just noticed this thread from yesterday where the ESA56 is also mentioned.
