older generation was created by Brian
my mother and father in law are both on high rate mobility. will the purposed changes to pip have any effect on them as they are both over 65.

As it stands at the moment, the Government have not announced any plans to transfer claimants over 65 receiving DLA to PIP.my mother and father in law are both on high rate mobility. will the purposed changes to pip have any effect on them as they are both over 65.

The government's plans were at first to stop paying DLA for those 65 years or over and not transfer them to PIP.
However, after lots of campaigning those currently on DLA and over 65 will continue
to receive DLA, so long as their needs satisfy an award.
There are no plans to remove DLA from those over 65, and no evidence that the government intends to do so in the future.
This is in line with pre introduction of DLA in 1992. In those days DLA was two separate benefits, Mobility Allowance (MA) and Attendance Allowance, (AA) with MA and the old AA being paid to those with mobility and/or care needs irrespective of age.
