work group no medical was created by gilly120
Hi

I have been on ib since 2007 after a serious RTA. I filled in my esa50 in November and today received a letter saying i had been placed in the work group.

I have many bone fractures that will never properly heal . And had a serious brain injury in the RTA .

When i filled in the esa5o I enclosed two medical reports from consultants saying i will never be able to return to work due to the head injury and bone problems.

So why not even send me for a medical and put me straight in the work group. Does any one know if its two years or one year you get paid for in the work group.

Thanks

Chris

No decision has been made regarding whether the limit is going to be one year or two, although this may be answered on Wednesday.

See the following FAQs regarding any appeal you might want to make to the Support Group.

Qualifying for the Support Group

Is there any risk to challenging a decision?

How long do I have to appeal?

How to submit an appeal

Hi. I too have been placed in the work group, but appealing. If you have been placed in the contribution-based ESA then you will only be paid for up to 182days, thats what i've been informed. check out Jobseekers Allowance Form (Disagreeing with a Decision)
Hope you're appealing. Good luck

The 182 day limit applies to Contribution Based Job Seekers Allowance.

The proposed time limit for ES(CB) is 365 days, possibly amended to 730 days. See

12 Month Limit for ESA(CB)

Thanks for the replies folks . I will be appealing for the support group i meet at least two of the descriptors.

But what a hassle why do they make you jump through hoops to get what your entitled to .
