Is it worthwhile?

After long term severe pain that has really affected my life in many ways i finally was told after an MRI scan that i have degenerative disc disease and stenosis of the spine, i am 35 years old, i applied for DLA which was refused and now i'm in the process of appeal, several friends have told me with the new tighter changing benefits it really is pointless as i would never be awarded anything, i have been off work since July and aswell as chronic pain i am suffering depression due to the impact on my life...does anybody disagree with friends advice and keep trying? any opinion is much appreciated, thanks xxx

Hi Leah, I certainly disagree with your friends. Why should you give up. I have suffered with chronic spinal pain for just over seven years that affects my upper and lower limbs too. You don't know what the outcome will be unless you try. I'm sure your friends only want the best for you but you are the one living with severe pain and the impact that has on your life. I hope you get the treatment you need and relief from your pain.

i have severe ddd and have had 3 major spine op and cant get dla and been refused esa after being on ib for 7 years so wouldnt hold your breath
