medical and freedom of info act

hi
i took your advice in requesting freedom of information act requesting on all details held on me etc and .I wanted to ask roughly how long does it take to recive the info? Is there a law which states a time eg 28 days? they were sent off 24 april recored delivery and still waiting to hear back.

Hi,

If you are requesting your own information, it is the Data Protection Act, not the Freedom of Information Act that is relevant.

From the DWP website:

The Data Protection Act allows DWP 40 calendar days to provide you with your personal information. This starts from the date we receive your request containing enough information for us to identify you and locate your information.

However, we do try to provide this information as soon as possible within this timescale.
