sitting was created by james
I have been on incapacity benfit since 1997 and only ever had one medical (at the start. I have just recieved the esa transfer application form and I'm a bit concerned over a couple of the questions.
I am unable to sit,due to servere pain in my back. I have to lay down most of the day. What should i put in the sitting and standing question? Even though i can sit ,it causes me so much pain i refrain from doing it,so should i tick the first box {need help to move seats) or box 2 where you can only sit for 30mins. As i can not sit comfortably at all box 2 doesn't really apply, but if i tick box one then i would be lying as i can transfer from one chair to another.
Any thoughts on this problem will be appreciated.

It is not uncommon for people to find that the ESA50 form does not fit their circumstances. You do not have to tick either box if they are not appropriate - you can leave the tick-boxes empty and explain your situation in the space below (using the 'any other information' box or starting a new heet o paper if neccessary).

Please remember to clearly state your name and NINo on any extra pages.
