Help really appreciated was created by Dlettice
Ive been claiming dla at low rate for PTSD, they wouldn't give me middle rate so I appealled, I've since been in touch with them and after talking to them decided to go to my gp and get a letter for them in which he asks if I could be reconsidered for a higher rate, they did get in touch with my gp earlier but they knew little about me as I only went in to get referred to a therapist.
I was told to send in the letter from my gp with a letter asking this letter to be passed to a decision maker, which I did so I don't have the letter, it is with dla, in the meantime I have a letter from the tribunal to be sent back within a fortnight asking if I still want to go ahead with my appeal, whether I want it to be held near me etc, I have had advice to send in the white form appealing against a wrong decision but what do I do with the tribunal letter? Can I send in the GL24? ( I think it is) when I'm going to a tribunal?
Sooo confusing.

Donna

This form is sent to you once the DWP have passed your papers to the Tribunal Service for an appeal hearing to be held.

You need to complete and return this form within 14 days of the date on the accompanying letter, or you appeal will be closed. You do not need to send another GL24.

Your GP's practice should have a copy of the letter they wrote for you, I would recommend that you get a copy from them. If this was not included in the evidence packet you received from the DWP, then you need to send a copy to the Tribunal Service for consideration at your appeal.

As a rule, never send originals unless specifically requested to do so, always keep a copy of annything you send to the DWP or TS.

Thanks Gordon, I do have a copy from my printer, I'll need to get some ink and print it off then, so in the meantime if by a stroke of luck I do get awarded middle rate can I cancel the tribunal?

If the DWP finds in your favour with an improved award, then the appeal will be automatically lapsed (closed), if you are not happy with this new award, then you can make a new appeal against this new Decision.

Thanks again, if only I'd joined this before I made a complete hash of rushing through a form I didn't really understand, fingers crossed
