home visit by ATOS rep was created by Allen
I am having a visit to my home by an ATOS rep due to my conditions. Will I have to show her upstairs bedrooms and bathroom though I stay mainly downstairs and have a downstairs loo. I got a letter from ATOS saying someone will contact me to arrange a visit but a week has passes and no word. Is this just another waiting game thatATOS like to play with people or do they have to contact me within a certain timescale

Is it for a DLA claim? They may ask outright to look at aids etc upstairs or they may use the pretense of visiting the toilet, to snoop about!

Hi A,

It is not uncommon for the ATOS HCP to have a look around your home, (generally with DLA assessments).

They may ask whether they can look around, or sometimes thay may ask to wash their hands, or go the loo, and have a quick look round.

It may help your cause to point out any adaptations that you need.

They are supposed to give you 7 days notice for any assessment. They can request that you have the assessment earlier, but that is upto you.

See : DLA medical examination

ESA Medical – What to expect

You can have someone present at the assessment, and they are allowed to takes notes on the proceedings.

I had a DLA medical in July and the HCP never asked to look round. He did the medical and went.
