WRAG to Support Group Today

Hi Derek, sorry for the delay in responding but I missed your post and only read it after the forum closed over Christmas.
I went to the appeal with my wife. To be honest I’m more than a little embarrassed about my condition and I don’t like talking about it. As far as I’m concerned the less people that know the better.
I have a friend who took an advisor from a local advice centre to her appeal hearing and what she said was that the advisor met her a few minutes before the start of the tribunal and said very little in the hearing, but they did move her from no award to WRAG. These advisors are under a lot of pressure and can’t really spend that much time on each case. If you are really concerned that you will not present yourself well at the appeal without an advisor you should contact all the support organisations in your area.

Thanks so much for your reply, I trush you had a very good Christmas & New Year.
I thought that you may not have seen my post before the forum closed.
I fully understand your reasons given in your post as there are also conditions I would not be prepaired to air on any forum.
I was very interisted to hear about the representation that you and your friend had, as you say its near impossible nowdays to get representation unless you have deep pockets !!!
I can see ahead that people will be put off going to Tribunals and I cant blame them.
However in my case I am going to follow it through and am prepairing paperwork and gaining as much advice and data about DIY appeal as I believe it will go that way.
The appeal info on this site is very good and gives us some ammo to use, it comes down to the fact have you got what it takes to do a face to face oral tribunal, hopefully I have.
