ATOS provide medical services to the DLA Unit of the DWP, however, the management and decision making processes are, as always, done by the DWP.

ATOS would not have written to you denying a claim, they have no authority or responsibility for doing this.

It is possible that your renewal is being handled by a local DWP oddice rather than Blackpool.

Most DWP offices use a mail delivery centre that then distributes the post to each office it circulates.

Mine is Birmingham, which is 60 mile away, my local office is just over 30 miles away and is itself 60 miles from Birmingham, but in another direction.

To the best of my knowledge first claims for DLA are handled by DLA Regional Offices located throughout the UK.

However, once there is a DLA award made, then all claims are dealt with by the DLA Central Unit, Warbreck House, Blackpool, Lancs.

Information on DLA awards is available by 'phoning 08457 123456 which although a non Regional number automatically routes callers to the DLA Unit in Blackpool.
