elaine wrote: Thanks Bro. I did receive the Christmas Bonus for 2012 (though it wasn’t itemised separately as before), but the letter seems to imply I won’t get anything in 2013, that’s the puzzle.

I am not aware of any changes to the Christmas Bonus in 2013, it is not unusual for the DWP not to refer to payments that are not confirmed at this time, so this may be the reaason why it is showing as £0.

Thanks CityMike, yes I do see what you mean and I hadn't thought of that - since I don't know officially of the SG decision I don't know when it'll be reviewed, though the original WRAG decision was for a year.

I’ve still heard nothing about my appeal to go into the Support Group rather than the WRAG. I wrote to the office that sent me the uprating letter which mentioned in passing that I was in the SG, asking them to confirm that I was indeed in the Support Group. They received the letter 28 Jan, but I have had no response.

Not knowing if I will have to go in front of a tribunal some time, or if I will lose my ESA in June, is really getting to me. And the thought that they may actually have made a decision but just can’t be bothered to tell me, only makes it worse.

I don’t know what it takes to get a reply out of these people.

If I went into the local JobCentre (where I went for my WFI), would they be able to tell me anything? Or should I now write to the office dealing with the appeal?

I am tempted to threaten them with involving my MP, but as they haven’t given a formal decision that I’m in the SG I don’t want to risk them changing their mind.

You can try the JC+, but I would expect you to have to make an appointment, which they may be reluctant to do, and they may not have access to details of your claim that you need.

Even if you do have some success with the above, I would still write to the DWP asking for an update on your claim and if a Decision has been made, for a Decision notice to that affect.

One of the big problems that we seem to be having with the DWP at the moment, is that they seem to be happy to notify claimants of a result on any old piece of paper that they have to hand, I suspect they would use the back of a fag packet, if smoking in Government offices was not banned.

I also received an uprating letter that said there was £0.00 amount of Christmas bonus to be paid.
In 2012 they hadn't paid christmas bonus and I queried it and was told I was entitled to it but I'd been missed off the system so they processed a payment of £10.

This week I queried the £0.00 amount on the letter and was told that it is a computer generated letter and although I'm entitled to the payment and they made it last year the system hadn't updated itself to tell them they need to make the £10 payment in December.

I've been told if I am still entitled to ESA in November then to phone them to ensure they put on the system they should be paying me a christmas bonus.
