Hi could you advise me regarding what I am legally bound to tell a compliance officer who is visiting me at home next week . I received a letter from Jobcentre Plus informing me that they need to see me to discuss the benefit they are currently paying me and to make sure it my payments are correct it is essential that we can discuss the matter . It also states where there is doubt whether the conditions for entitlement are met , we can suspend my benefit.
I am at present on ESA cb support group having been transferred from IB which I have been receiving since 1999/2000.
I also receive DLA at the Highest rate for Mobility and the Highest rate for the care component.
The letter also asks me or my partner have if I have any of the following we have to show them the evidence: Occupational pension ,Earnings , ISAs , Savings , Property , other income or savings and finally my immigration status and right to remain.
What concerns me is I have always declared my occupational pension and have never had any income based benefits at any time. My wife is quite concerned about disclosing her small ISA etc
Many thanks

Hi Sj,

An interview with a Compliance Officer can be quite routine, however, in many cases they result from someone "reporting" you to The DWP.

You are compelled to provide all and any information that they may request. Failure to do so may result in your benefits being suspended.

Compliance Officer Interviews have been known to highlight an under payment to a claimant, however, if this escalates any further, and you are to be interviewed "under caution" I would advise that you seek legal representation ASAP.

Hopefully, it will all be routine, and that will be an end to it.
